"I have been working as a translator since 2000. I have been certified by the NGTV, the Dutch Association for Translators and Interpreters. I have resided in various countries in Europe and in the USA, working mainly for English and American companies. My command of English is excellent. I normally deliver UK English.

Over the years, I have progressed through a wide array of functions, from management assistant to reporter, and from communication consultant to information designer, working with all levels within the company and within many sectors. This is why I have a good feel for the context of the texts I translate.

As a reporter, I wrote articles for a local Dutch paper and a national Dutch tourist paper. The work varied from interviews with artists to processing press releases. As a consultant, I wrote reports for target groups ranging from Boards of Commissioners to mechanics. As an information designer, I wrote web content.

I spent most of my professional years as a consultant in the ICT sector, where writing manuals and other user documents was a regular part of my job. For years I created and translated articles, presentations and manuals. This mostly concerned texts of a business nature with a high ICT level.

I acquired in-depth insight in paper media as well as new media in the printing sector and in internet projects.

A few recent examples of my assignments are:

- Translation of annual reports and financial press releases;
- Translation of terms and conditions for several companies;
- Translation of investment product brochures for a leading bank;
- Editing and rewriting a presentation for a design competition;
- Summarising the minutes of the Supervisory Board of a multinational into announcements for staff and stakeholders.

Working well with many computer programmes, having excellent typing skills and being an organised person by nature allows me to always make my deadlines. In addition to standard MS Office programmes, I utilise Trados."
